The Costanzo Chronicles

Engaging students in the study of world history can be a challenge. Utilizing the Costanzo Chronicles to introduce or review the history of the world will increase student engagement, provoke their curiosity and encourage them to connect the past to present.

The artwork is "Mixed Media". The artist used black ink Paper Mate Rollerball pens, #2 pencils, Crayola colored pencils, and Crayola felt tip markers.

Artist - Don Costanzo and wife Shirley
DON “GRUMP PA” COSTANZO, a Korean War veteran used his “G.I. Bill” opportunity and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Don’s entire business career focused on Art, Advertising and Marketing, and New Product development for the next 40 years. After his retirement in 1999 Don used his artistic talent, history research, and religious studies to create a series of 10 paintings featuring the creation of our Planet Earth and the development of all living things, mankind, architecture, transportation, religions, governments, warfare, natural disasters from 4.5 Billion BC until 2100 AD. Don and his wife, Shirley, have been married for 55 years and have 4 children and 9 grand children who have coined the word “Grump Pa”. At age 80+, Don is still an active sportsman (golf, tennis and walking), artist, writer and new product developer. In 2014 Don had his 6th hole-in-one, shot his age in golf 80, and completed his 3,000 mile walk across the USA, all this after suffering four strokes from 2008 to 2011.
